August has launched Genius Mode, its newest AI feature designed to automate complex processes law firms face daily. The tool enables end-to-end handling of multi-step, multi-document legal work, including assembling closing sets, generating billing summaries, and compiling board minutes.

  • Genius Mode integrates directly with Microsoft Word, letting users draft, reformat, and revise full documents within the familiar application—streamlining routines and reducing the need for switching between tools.
  • UK firm Harrison Drury has adopted August’s AI platform across nine offices and a wide array of business areas. Simon England, Managing Partner, notes: "August will give us the ability to spend more of our time on the things our clients actually value: our knowledge, our relationships, and our attention to their specific needs. The technology handles a lot of the process; our people handle the judgment and the advice."
  • Other major firms, including Hughes Hubbard & Reed, cite August's appeal to both legal professionals and non-legal business teams. CIO Neeraj Rajpal said, "August mirrors how our attorneys work while also delivering real value to our finance, marketing and operations teams. That made this a firmwide decision, not just a legal one."
  • To support upskilling, August Academy now features a library of more than 100 video tutorials and certifications at three tiers: Legal AI Fundamentals, Advanced, and Expert. Training resources aim to ensure responsible and effective AI adoption in law firms.
  • The company raised $7 million in August 2025 from NEA and Pear VC to further develop AI document handling for midsize firms, underscoring investor confidence in AI-driven legal productivity (read more).
