C.H.BECK has become the majority shareholder in legal AI company Noxtua following a Series C funding round exceeding €100 million. This transaction marked the exit of major early investors including law firms CMS and Dentons, as well as Global Brain Corporation, KDDI Open Innovation Fund, and IOTA Foundation founder Dominik Schiener.

Founded in Berlin in 2017 on academic research from Oxford University and Imperial College London, Noxtua offers AI-powered legal writing workspaces that cover the full workflow from research to drafting complex legal documents. The company relies on exclusive curated legal data from leading European publishers like C.H.BECK and MANZ, who also joined this round as a new investor.

As of September 2026, Noxtua serves over 30,000 users and employs approximately 100 people across six locations in Europe, including Berlin, Paris, Stockholm, Zagreb, Munich, and Freiburg. Noxtua's technology meets rigorous professional and data protection standards with certifications such as BSI C5, ISO 27001, and ISO 42001.

Prof. Dr. Klaus Weber, Member of C.H.BECK's Executive Board, emphasized: "Combining high-quality data with innovative AI technology is the recipe for success in a rapidly changing market." Dr. Leif-Nissen Lundbæk, Noxtua's CEO and Founder, added that the Series C round supports the company’s ongoing expansion in partnership with C.H.BECK and MANZ.
