Relativity, a leader in legal data intelligence, and AI startup Wickard.ai announced a new partnership on April 14, 2026, aimed at expanding AI-focused education within U.S. law schools. According to the announcement, the arrangement allows law schools to access RelativityOne, the company’s AI-powered platform, and Wickard.ai’s AI curriculum and instruction, all at no cost.

  • Phil Saunders, CEO of Relativity, emphasized the urgency of AI literacy: “AI isn't coming for the legal industry; it's already here...we have a responsibility to help prepare the next generation of lawyers to keep pace with where the legal industry is today and where it's headed.”
  • Oliver Roberts, Wickard.ai’s founder, echoed the sentiment: “Legal AI literacy is quickly becoming a core competency for future lawyers.”

This initiative builds on Relativity’s Academic program, which has collaborated with more than 115 academic institutions globally since 2014 to embed legal technology into law school curricula. Wickard.ai has conducted practical AI education at several law schools including Case Western Reserve, Washington University, Southwestern, University of Washington, and University of Mississippi.

To kick off the partnership, Relativity and Wickard.ai will co-host a webinar on April 30, 2026, alongside Washington University in St. Louis, to discuss AI integration into legal education.
